I need help formulating an argument for a thesis :/?
In “False Identifications” Diana Taylor uses ideas about performance and theatricality to examine the death and mourning of Princess Diana in its global and local manifestations. Just recently, another female world political figure met an untimely end—Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan. Using the Web or the library, locate an account of the assassination and its aftermath. Then write an essay in which you use Taylor’s ideas to explore representations of the assassination and death of Benazir Bhutto. Princess Diana’s death spawned memorial murals throughout the world; what public displays of mourning have been created for Bhutto and do they function in the same ways? Is Bhutto’s assassination another example of Turner’s model of “social drama”? What sort of “ghosting” or “hauntology” has emerged in the wake of this death? How does it manifest locally? What role does death, in general, play in politics—local, national, and/or global?

- Bhutto was an active political leader in Pakistan. Even though her assassination was a tragic incident in the country's history, her life bears almost no resemblance to that of the late princesses. Benazir Bhutto (BB), was a political figure hailing from a political family and the head of one of the largest political parties of Pakistan. Her followers and party workers did not idealize her as a pretty damsel or a romantic figure. Bearing a strong personality, she was revered and respected for her political acumen and not for her looks or marital life. Hence, her untimely death has infuriated the people, rather than make them sad as in case of Diana. Pakistani people usually do not mourn for long periods as religion teaches them to accept death as inevitable and a divine decision. Services were held at her native town in Garhi Khuda Baksh for a period of about a month following her death. The local people esp. those in surrounding areas of her native city have more of a emotional connection with the Bhutto legacy than with BB herself. Of course, the incident of her assignation has slowly shrouded itself in conspiracy theories, more so since the bungled attempt of the government to attribute the actual cause of death to a hit on the head with roof of her car, instead of with a bullet. The theories have been fueled by the strong distrust of the government, and various lapses in BB's security.
