How can I buy tickets for the upcoming India-Pakistan cricket match in Delhi?
We moved to India a year ago from the U. S. and my kids and I are really starting to like cricket. I read that there will be India-Pakistan matches in November and December, 2007. I am based in Delhi, and my understanding is there are matches Nov 22 to 26 at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. I would like to get tickets for the Saturday or Sunday match, but I have absolutely no idea how to do this. Is there a number I can call? A place I can visit? If it is sold out (which it probably is) then is there a way to buy tickets via re-sale? Thanks in advance!

- go to the stadium in advance

- what is cricket?
- all I'm saying is...when you get them tickets you betta take me with you honey. lol jk. Sorry can't help you with that. I hope you have fun if you get to go.
- Perhaps you should post your question again under the travel section under Delhi as this is UK and Ireland answers so we're not really going to be much help. When we want to go to Cricket matches in the UK we contact the ground itself such as Oval or Lords and buy them direct from there. If the match is sold out there may be tickets available on eBay or from one of the many internet ticket touts or at the ground itself on the day although these will have a significant mark up on the original price.
- Hi, Its nice to know that you are wanting to take your kids to the cricket match. Have a blast in Delhi. Being in US myself, I know how bad it would have been for cricket lovers in US..haha..Enjoy! You can contact the ground authorities for the ticket purchase. - Dear Friend, I am too a die-hard cricket fan and have been making efforts to buy tickets for any India match during the last 10 years or so but always in vain. The only way to buy a ticket for an international India match, inside India is that you need to be really a close close friend of the chief minister of that particular state, or the president of the state cricket association or the Prime minister of India. Else you can stand in the queue at the ticket counter some 12-14 hours ago before the counter opens for the first time but as soon as you would reach the counter, it would display "ALL TICKETS SOLD". And if you happen to get one ticket, by mistake, you would land in a bigger trouble. I also, once got one match ticket for an Australia-New Zealand match. To tell you few things if u get one match ticket, you need to at least reach the stadium 2 hours before the start of the match to be able to see the first over. Second, you would not be allowed to carry LITERALLY ANYTHING inside, not even water, as if we are terrorists, just going inside to blast the stadium. Third, if u dare to reach the food stalls during lunch time, you would not be able to reach ur sitting position (because seat, u might not get again) before the 5th over of the second innings. So my suugestion to you would be that just be inside your bed room & enjoy the match on tv. And pray that US starts playing cricket soon so that u could one day watch an India match in US, if not poosible in ur own country. BUT, I would like to take this opportunity to request BCCI to i) Bring LOT MORE TRANSPARENCY in ticket selling process and if possible sell tickets thru internet, giving access to all people. ii) let the millions of cricket crazy fans enjoy their game with minimum of effort, BECAUSE BCCI must realise that all its billion dollar corpus is because of these cricket crazy fans ONLY! Regards
