i heard they were one of the best teams in the world and they have picked up the world cup 4 times: 1971, 1978, 1982 and 1994.

Pakistan finished 3rd at the 2006 Asian Games and qualified for the 2008 Olympics. Yes there was a period when they won world cups and gold medals in recent history they finished 6th at the 2006 World Cup and a 5th place finish at the 2004 Athens Olympics. 1994 1st place was their last top 3 finish at the world cup and 1992 (Barcelona) 3rd place finish their last top 3 finish at the Olympics.
