It could always be worse. if you do one person at a time, and they each resolve their own problems by seeing that the next is much worse off then they are, and help them out, until in the end of the book the first three unite with the fourth and all four of them sacrifice themselves in an epic battle for the cause of world peace. from their deaths, people all over the world realize the foolishness of the wars that they are fighting and everybody (except the original characters) lives happily ever after. feel free to use this
