This has rEaLlY peed me off. The Queen decides to give Salman Rushdie a Knighthood for services to literature, then the Pakistan government say they wouldn't condemn suicude bombs against him! This is compleltly ridiculous, abnd just shows how unstable the nation is. They are even burning effigies of our Queen Elizabeth II because they're all so pathetic. So it may have offended some people (the book he wrote) but did we see all of the 1 billion catholics burning Dan Brown for the Da Vinci Code? No. It was just film critics and a few Priests. I can't really explain how annoyed I am on this site (i'll get reported etc etc). But what are your thoughts? Ok, i'm an idiot. It should say: WHO is Pakistan..... Robert C: Huh and what thumb? You are so lacking in understanding that I can't even begin to answer your question. Have you considered counselling? Ok...did the thumb make you feel better? Would you like to do something positive with the thumb?

It would be very interesting if the British were to flood the streets burning the Pakistan flag and effigies of their leader - because of those who are burning the Union flag and effigies of the Queen. Where would it all end? It would be like bonfire night - every night. Personally I'm getting used to seeing the Union flag getting burnt by raging Muslims. The British flag makers in those countries must be loaded. Every time anyone does anything remotely unworshipful of Islam - out come the cigarette lighters and the old red, white and blue sheets.
I TOTALLY agree with you! It amazes me that apparently there are riots and mass hysteria in Muslim nations, not to mention threats of suicide bombers, and all because Rushdie is being honoured by the UK! We're not allowed to voice any criticism, however valid, of the Muslim community in this country, yet now even our honours list apparently has to be vetted by every Muslim state just in case we happen to offend them! And how on earth can they condone suicide bombs? They are totally, utterly insane. That's the only explanation. Before anyone accuses me of Islamophobia, don't even bother. I have equal respect for ALL faiths - but don't expect me to have respect for people who call for terror attacks and executions just because they didn't like one writer's book!!!
I am as equally peed off with their actions too. I don't see why they think they're so special that they can go around telling us what to do, burning effigies of our monarchs, and threatening the murder of someone. Its not like hes killed anyone. If we were to do this to the Pakistanis (and other Muslims) we would be accused of being racist, blasphemous and all that crap. However, as per usual, its double standards!
It's an aggresively intolerant religion, and more and more of them are pouring into the u.k.

On one hand, according to you, it is okay for UK to go on 'political protests' just to get their points across and when country like Pakistan decides to raise its voice, you guys can't take it. The award of honours in this country has nothing to do with any other nation. I happen to think that Rushdie has done little to deserve a knighthood; however, he has the right to write what he wants and to have it published here provided that his work remains within the law in the UK. Frankly I am not concerned that some hotheads in Pakistan object to the knighthood, that is their right too. What grips me is that the press make such a fuss about it fuelling this irrelevant protest withe what someone once called the oxygen of publicity.
Now it must be clear why many UK people want to ban Muslims coming to the UK. This is not racism Islam is a religion NOT A RACE
