Why India is infuencedy western culture and Pakistan is not?

We see in every Indian movie there is someone wearing US flag or somthing else like in inian songs they will bring a whiter woman (not black), seems like they are impressed by them, or may be because they were under the influence of USSR, and the country did bot have any thing to offer, now after the cold war, indian first time saw real world,so this is their overjaoyed expression.

  1. India was certainly influenced by the British occupation, while Pakistan was less so.
  2. India is more Hindu country, they are more open. Pakistan is Muslim and islam hates progress and modernity.
  3. Simple Answer: They're a bunch of Wannabes Complex but politically correct answer: I think it has more to do with the fact that India has had a history of media (films in particular) that have showcased the lifestyle of its rich. Post 1947, most of the rich in India were those who had collaborated with the British. Therefore, in early Indian movies you see more of an emphasis on British Culture. However, Queen's empire doesn't command the clout it once used to so the attention has moved to the land of opportunity: The United States! That, coupled with the fact that Consumer marketing has really taken off in India within the past two decades probably has something to do with it. One thing that pisses me off all the time though is people implying generalizations in their questions regarding India and Pakistan. The fact of the matter is that the majority of the population in India and Pakistan are seriously poor, if not in poverty. Of course, no one wants to pay money to see those people on the big screen.
  4. I would rather say that this was to make the movies more popular among the worls audience. its true that india was under the influence of hollywood and to a certain extent it still is ( which is reflected in some of the movies today). after independence indian movies quite often showed western people in their songs. but slowly they are moving out of this shadow. and as far as indian movies being shot outside is concerned it is the same thing again. to make them more appealing to a global audience. but there are a bunch of directors in india( for ex. ram gopal verma, madhur bhandarkar) who have potrayed the truth of the system and made realistic movies. and i have not seen any movie from pakistan though i want to watch one. but i know that they are more conservative and probably thats why the influence of western culture is less there. p.s.- why this strange nick name. no offence meant but are you a nazi lover, some one who hates jews
